What did Princess Caroline of Monaco do on her 42nd birthday?

Birthday day this Thursday, January 23, 2025 in the Grimaldi clan. Princess Caroline of Hanover celebrated her 68th birthday. But a very sad meeting was on his agenda.

The big sister of Prince Albert II of Monaco was in fact alongside him and his wife Princess Charlene, as well as his youngest son Pierre Casiraghi and his wife Beatrice Borromeo, for the last farewell to Didier Guillaume.

On that day, in Monaco Cathedral, the funeral of Didier Guillaume was celebrated, who died on January 17 at the age of 65 following a severe illness. This French politician has been, for several months, the new head of government of the Principality.

26 years ago, on the contrary, it was a moment of great happiness which was combined with his birthday. As she blew out her 42nd birthday, the daughter of Prince Rainier III and the late Princess Grace said “yes” to Prince Ernst August of Hanover. Nine years after the tragic disappearance, in an offshore accident, of Stefano Casiraghi, her second husband and father of her three children, Andrea, Charlotte and Pierre, the big sister of Prince Albert and Princess Stéphanie was married civilly within the Princely palace of Monaco with the head of the House of Hanover three years his senior.

Six months later, on July 20, she gave birth to Princess Alexandra of Hanover, her fourth child. And the third for Ernst August, already father of two boys born from his first marriage to Chantal Hochuli, princes Ernst August junior and Christian.

Although the couple has been separated since 2009, they are not divorced. And Caroline remains Princess of Hanover.
