Picardie Verte: faced with uncertainties, Fabienne Cuvelier is “taking the side of being positive” for 2025

During her greetings, the president of Picardie Verte, Fabienne Cuvelier, did not fail to highlight the slump into which the parliament and the government are plunging local authorities.

Rare enough to be underlined, only the president of the Picardie Verte community (CCPV) spoke during her wishes. No other elected official, from any community, nor representative of the State or parliament, spoke.

No doubt to allow Fabienne Cuvelier to express, like many mayors since the beginning of January, her anger at the national political situation.

Since our election in 2020, we have had to face the Covid crisis, the energy crisis linked to global conflicts, and now the political instability of our country“, she underlined, before launching into the imitation of presidents of the 5th Republic, from Georges Pompidou to Emmanuel Macron, each announcing in their time that the coming year would be difficult.

I am not President of the Republic. But if 2024 was difficult, I fear 2025 will be even more difficult. How can we move forward when the measures taken yesterday are no longer taken today but will perhaps be taken again tomorrow? I am thinking here of the transfer of water and sanitation skills, of the green fund, of maintaining our budgets. No one here has experienced such uncertainty. But I choose to be positive. Let’s keep hope and ride the wave of optimism.”

Water management

By 2026, the CCPV must decide on its receipt of water and sanitation skills. But the consultation started in 2023 “shows the interest in maintaining our existing water unions which ensure efficient and sustainable management“, underlined Fabienne Cuvelier.

Four municipalities, until then autonomous, joined a union in 2024. These are Brombos, Hautbos, Offoy and Sarnois. The elected officials therefore remain, as the president said above, in the most total uncertainty, “legislation may change at any time“.

Better sorting

The president of the CCPV urged everyone to sort more and better. In 2023, out of 180kg of waste, 63% could have been recycled.

This buried waste costs the CCPV more and more every year. It is therefore important to tackle the problem.

On the other hand, the elected officials retained “an innovative scenario” for the Grémévillers recycling center. It will become a so-called flat recycling center, without an unloading dock. The start of work is planned for the end of the year.

A new site and a new mobile application for Picardie Verte

In 2025, the intercommunity wants to focus on its communication. So, in the spring, “two new faces will appear“.

It will be a website “modern, fluid with intuitive navigation and enriched content“, and a mobile application allowing “strengthen interactions with residents and transmit information to them in real time“.

The CCPV also wishes to develop its YouTube channel with diversified content.

CCPV information can no longer escape you.”

Tour d’horizons

Picardie Verte’s projects also include: the provision of electric cars without a license to be reserved at the town hall, the renovation of the premises of the social center in the canton of Grandvilliers, the continuation of the partnership with BlaBlaCar Daily, the development of the cycling master plan , the establishment of the reading territory contract, the continuation of the Archipop artistic residency, the extension of the MTVS railway, or even the holding, in September, of an event around horses after the establishment of signage on the 2nd section of the equestrian loop.

The 4th local food festival

As part of its territorial food project (PAT), the intercommunity wants to continue raising awareness about eating better for the inhabitants of its territory. Particularly on the themes, this year, of food supply and waste.

For example, for the fourth edition, the local food festival will be held. This year it will take place on June 15 in Songeons, and promises to be different. “The event will be revisited in its form“, specified Fabienne Cuvelier.

Finally, the intercommunality hopes to see this year finally validate its local intercommunal urban planning plan (PLUI), which conditions the realization of numerous projects in the territory. However, he was arrested in December 2023. But the CCPV had to review its copy.

However, Fabienne Cuvelier is not entirely optimistic on this subject.

I no longer dare to comment on this matter, as childbirth is so difficult.
