Construction of the Chambly fire station is underway

The demolition site for the Serge-Caron barracks will be in place for approximately four to five weeks.

We are talking about eco-responsible work when a good part of the materials and equipment will be recovered and reinstalled or even recycled.

Then, the project to rebuild a new barracks, meeting current standards, will begin.

It will include, in particular, an integrated emergency measures center, a three-story exercise tower, a decontamination zone for firefighters and their combat uniforms, living spaces adequately designed to allow permanent barracks, as well as an exhibition space dedicated to the history of the Fire Department.

Delivery of the new building is planned for the end of 2026.

This project, which represents an investment of more than $19.1 million, benefits from a boost from the Quebec government of $5,799,101. The City also counts on royalties collected as part of large-scale real estate projects, i.e. $528,750 from the Lumcité project on the locks; $391,250 from the AERA Chambly project; $337,500 from the Cloriacité project in Chambly.
