A fire ravaged a hotel at a ski resort in northwest Turkey on Tuesday, in the Koroglu mountains, Bolu province, about 300 kilometers east of Istanbul. This tragedy caused the death of 76 people and at least 51 people injured, announced the Minister of the Interior.
The fire broke out at 3:27 a.m. (7:27 p.m. Monday Eastern Time) in the 12-story Grand Kartal Hotel, which has wooden cladding.

Turkish authorities arrested four people, including the hotel owner, “as part of an investigation led by six prosecutors,” Turkish Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc said in a social media post. The hotel owner is among those arrested for questioning, according to the justice minister. A panel of five people with relevant expertise in the case will also participate in the investigation, he said.
