Victorious comebacks, the Rocket knows that too

The Rocket likes to imitate the Montreal Canadiens these days by coming from behind to win and he accomplished the feat again on Wednesday at Place Bell.

Trailing 2-0 after 40 minutes, he scored twice in 1:05 to tie the game, before Adam Engström sealed the game in overtime to lead the crowd favorites to a win 3 to 2 against the powerful Hershey Bears.

Head coach Pascal Vincent’s men pulled a similar stunt on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins by erasing a three-goal deficit late in the game to also win in overtime the previous Wednesday. They also came from behind Friday against the Comets in Utica. But this time, the opposition was much more formidable: the two-time reigning Calder Cup champions who dominated the American League with a .679 scoring average heading into the matchup.

However, Sean Farrell reduced the gap in the eighth minute of the third period and Laurent Dauphin followed with his 12th goal of the campaign. Then, Engström got the crowd going with a push off the wing and beat goalie Hunter Shepard. However, Bears color wearer Michael Sgarbossa was seriously shaken during the sequence, remaining lying on the ice for several minutes before receiving help to leave the scene.

In front of the winners’ cage, Cayden Primeau was little used. He stopped 17 shots. Jake Massie and Chase Priskie deceived his vigilance in the first period.

A busy man

Even though he played two games with the Canadian before being demoted on Wednesday, Owen Beck did not miss a Rocket game recently and was therefore back in the evening to play a fifth game in six days. The attacker tested Shepard twice.

On a pugilistic level, Vincent Arseneau has found the right fit. Dalton Smith made him look bad in the first period.

The Rocket will visit the Hartford Wolf Pack on Friday, then the Providence Bruins on Sunday.
