The 2025 Marguerite Duras Prize goes to the author Fabienne Périneau for his novel Dare to come out and screampublished by Récamier editions. It is crowned by a jury made up of specialists in the writer.
In this work, a young girl without a first name wants to become an actress. Crushed under the weight of a heavy secret, she confides in her friend who advises her to read Agathathe piece of Marguerite Duras. Captivated by her reading, she meets a director who organizes a meeting with the author in order to convince her to perform the text in the theater. But the wounds always resurface…
Fabienne Périneau is an actress and author. After writing the play I will never be old again (L’Amandier, 2015), she published her first novel in 2016, Such a long way to me (Denoël, Matmut prize for first novel), and a second in 2020, I don’t want to be pretty (Pocket, Summer Books prize). She then draws inspiration from her own life as an actress and her meeting with Marguerite Duras to write Dare to come out and scream.
