Champions League review: Real Madrid’s domination and Manchester City’s setback

Real Madrid displayed their might as they prevailed with a crushing 5-1 victory over RB Salzburg, illustrating their strength in the Champions League. The victory was powered by brilliant performances from Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior, each scoring a brace, while Kylian Mbappé also added to the party. Salzburg managed to score a consolation goal through Mads Bidstrup.

In another captivating encounter, Sergio Conceicao celebrated his first Champions League victory in charge of AC Milan, thanks to a solitary goal from Rafael Leao which gave his side a 1-0 victory over Girona , thus consolidating their position in the top eight.

Meanwhile, Feyenoord put in an impressive performance to win 3-0 against Bayern Munich, leaving the German giants in danger of entering the play-off round. Inter Milan moved closer to automatic qualification for the knockout stages with a narrow 1-0 victory over Sparta Prague.

Manchester City suffered a major setback, giving up a 2-0 advantage to eventually lose 4-2 to Saint-Germain. This defeat leaves them in a precarious position, now finding themselves outside the top 24 in the group stage and needing to triumph against Club Brugge in their final match to stay in contention.

In contrast, Declan Rice opened the scoring for Arsenal in their 3-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb at the Emirates Stadium, scoring just 104 seconds after kick-off. Kai Havertz added a second goal, taking his tally to 14 this season, before Martin Odegaard sealed the victory in injury time, taking Arsenal closer to automatic qualification for the knockout stages.

Celtic also enjoyed success, qualifying for the play-off stage thanks to a late own goal which gave them a 1-0 victory over Young Boys. Loris Benito, the captain of the visiting team, scored unintentionally in the 86th minute after a saved shot from Adam Idah, following a nice assist from Reo Hatate.

In previous matches, Shakhtar Donetsk secured a 2-0 victory over , while RB Leipzig triumphed 2-1 over Sporting Lisbon.
