arrests in the case of “Little Léo”, found dead in his charred car

On September 2, 2024, the body of a man was found in the trunk of a burning car in Louin, between Parthenay and Thouars. It was Léo Guillemain, nicknamed “Little Léo”, a 40-year-old man living in Retail, more than 30 km away. Shortly before the body was discovered, Léo Guillemain’s house was found burned.

While the public prosecutor’s office had opened a judicial investigation for assassination and destruction by dangerous means, we learned from The Western Mail that four people were arrested on Tuesday January 21, 2025 in this case. The individuals were placed in police custody in the Deux-Sèvres gendarmerie premises.

The Poitiers public prosecutor, Cyril Lacombe, indicated that he will provide more information on these arrests on Thursday January 23. The funeral of “Little Léo” took place a few days ago, on January 11 in Ardin. Shortly before, the victim’s body was returned to his family four months after its discovery.
