War in Ukraine: without weapons, equipped with a simple bulletproof vest, the “camel” tactic implemented by Wagner’s mercenaries, victims of Ukrainian drones

Present during the battles of Bakhmut between 2022 and 2023, and established at the time by the Wagner private militia, the Russian “camel” tactic is now back in the war zone, according to the Ukrainian press. The latter revealed images of a soldier transporting military equipment to those present on the front.

They are called “camels” as he transports military weapons and equipment to other Russian soldiers who are on the front. According to the Kiyv Post, this tactic implemented by the Wagner private militia, during the time of Yevgeny Prigozhin, is back.

Already present during of the terrible battles of Bakhmut who opposed Russian and Ukrainian forces between 2022 and 2023, the “camels” are soldiers who are not armed, simply equipped with a bulletproof vest, and whose mission is to supply the soldiers who are on the front.

But now, the strong presence of drones in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia since February 2022 is now a real challenge for those who have been designated for this mission. And while the use of remotely operated unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) would also allow the delivery of supplies, our colleagues report.
