The digitalization of transport tickets is winning a new battle, and this should make your life easier when you have to prove your identity and show your transport ticket at the same time.

A small digital revolution in TGV INOUI trains

Since January 20, 2025, traveling aboard a TGV INOUI has become a little simpler thanks to a joint initiative between Identity and SNCF Voyageurs. From now on, it is no longer necessary to present both your train ticket and an identity document during checks. The official France Identity application supports these two aspects in a single gesture with the integrated digital identity card.

Still in the process ofexperimentation, this simplifies checks on board trains by allowing travelers to use their smartphone to prove their identity and validate their transport ticket.

A feature that turns control into travel

TGV INOUI subscribers or holders of SNCF advantage cards can now take advantage of this new feature by activating their digital identity card in the France Identity application. Once configured, it generates a specific, encrypted and secure QR Code, which contains the information necessary for control:

  • Nom
  • First name
  • Date of birth

This QR Code replaces the classic double verification (ticket + identity document). The captains, equipped with their control devices, simply scan this code.

To use this feature, you must activate the digital card in the France Identity application. This activation only takes a few minutes and is done in two steps:

  • Enter your personal code into the app.
  • Scan your physical ID card via NFC to link it to your digital account.

Once these steps have been completed, simply swipe your digital ID card to the right or press the dedicated button to display the QR Code. This code can be used directly during checks on board TGV INOUI trains. The initiative is also based on a secure design, guaranteeing the confidentiality of personal data thanks to QR Code encryption.

For the moment, this experiment is limited to the TGV INOUI lines, and does not yet concern other SNCF services or regional trains.
