Emergency services were alerted around 1 p.m. this Monday, January 20: a gas leak occurred on the public highway in Lisieux, in the immediate vicinity of the station, Place Pierre-Semard. In order to carry out the repair work on the network, the power had to be cut off, which was impact some 160 households : a return to normal is expected “before the end of the day” we announce from the Calvados Departmental Fire and Rescue Service.
Two hours of delays for the trains
The operation required, as a precaution, the establishment of a security perimeter and temporary cessation of train traffic with “passenger safety” : rail traffic was able to resume in the middle of the afternoon in the sector, which led to delays of around two hours, according to SNCF. Sixteen firefighters and four intervention vehicles will have been mobilized, as well as police officers and several GRDF technicians.
