Algeria Football –
The leaders of the JS Kabylie (JSK) club appear to be on the verge of finalizing an agreement with German coach Josef Zinnbauer, potential successor to Abdelhak Benchikha.
This information was confirmed by local media sources, and a photo of the 54-year-old coach circulating on social media shows that he is currently in Algeria to sign his contract.
Josef Zinnbauer has a rich and varied career, both as a player and a coach. After playing for seventeen years for more than ten clubs in Germany, he had to end his playing career due to a cartilage injury. His coaching career began in 2005 at VfB Oldenburg, before moving through several clubs, including Karlsruher SC and Hamburger SV. At Hamburger he had a promising start, but was sacked after mixed results.
Zinnbauer then took charge of FC St. Gallen in Switzerland, before joining South African club Orlando Pirates FC in December 2019. Under his leadership, the team made a strong comeback in the league and won the MTN 8 Cup , marking the first title of his coaching career.
-In June 2023, he was appointed coach of Raja Club Athletic in Morocco, where he caused a sensation by leading the team to an undefeated championship and a domestic double. However, on July 23, 2024, he announced his departure to join Al Wehda in Saudi Arabia.
The arrival of Zinnbauer at JSK could bring a new dynamic to the club, which hopes to regain its former glory on the national and continental scene. Fans are eagerly waiting to see how his experience and tactical vision will influence the team.
