a gas leak at the station, traffic interrupted

It was around 1 p.m. on Monday January 20, 2025, when emergency services were called to intervene on a gas leak to the Lisieux station (Calvados). A machine used to carry out surveys pierced a low pressure gas pipe at Place Sémard.

1OO people confined in the station

A security perimeter was set up by 17 firefighters, under the command of the captain Francois Gaillardwith the support of the national police and the municipal police.

Traffic is interrupted for trains having to pass through Lisieux. A hundred people are confined in the station hall. A train was stopped between Mézidon and Lisieux, with around 150 people on board.

Around 2:30 p.m., the repair of the leak was underway by GRDF teams. Enedis is also mobilized.
