: violent fire in progress in a shopping center

A fire broke out during the night from Sunday to Monday in the bowling alley of the Alma shopping center in .

The fire was not under control at the start of the morning.

Several businesses, out of the sixty in the center, are threatened.

The reasons for the disaster are currently unknown, but the damage is there. During the night from Sunday to Monday, around 3 a.m., a violent fire broke out in the Alma shopping center in Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine).

Around sixty firefighters were mobilized to put out the flames, but at 7:30 this morning, the fire was still not under control. Because for the firefighters, it is currently impossible to enter the building.

The fear of a spread

The fire, which started from the bowling alley located in the shopping center, could therefore spread to other stores. Two brands were particularly threatened: the “King Cadeau” and “Kiabi” stores located in the direct vicinity of the disaster. Firefighters also feared a collapse of the central slab this morning.

The Alma center located in the Les Chalais district, near the Rennes ring road, was inaugurated on April 27, 1971. It has the largest shopping arcade in with 47,000 m² and has around sixty brands.
