After numerous health issues since 2021, Sabu will finally have his retirement match.
Indeed, Sabu made a surprise appearance during the show ”People vs GCW” on January 19, 2025. While Joey Janela had just won his match against former ECW wrestler Masato Tanaka, the lights went out and Sabu was landed in the ring after a promo video.
Upon seeing Sabu in the ring, Janela declared that he and Sabu will face each other at GCW Spring Break 9 on April 18, 2025 in a retirement match for Sabu. An offer that Sabu accepted.
Sabu has no matches under his belt since 2021 as he has had health issues. In 2024, Sabu said he wanted to get back into shape and return to the ring for one last time when his health was better. Obviously the ECW legend is ready for this last match.
