Israel releases 90 Palestinian prisoners, hours after Hamas frees three hostages

Israel released 90 Palestinian detainees on Monday, January 20, a few hours after three Israeli hostages were released by Hamas. Shortly after midnight, the Israel Prisons Authority said that “90 terrorists” had been “liberated” of the Ofer military prison in the occupied West Bank and a detention center in Jerusalem. Hundreds of people followed the passage of the buses carrying the prisoners on a road from Beitunia leading to Ramallah, headquarters of the Palestinian Authority, waving Palestinian flags and others of various Palestinian political movements, including that of Hamas.
