Antigua GFC crowned the best Guatemalan club of 2024 by the IFFHS

The start of 2025 brings special recognition for Antigua GFC. According to the International Federation History and Statistics (IFFHS), the Colonial team has been named the best club in Guatemala for 2024. This achievement, based on the team’s performances throughout the year, strengthens the position of ‘Antigua as one of the most regular institutions in the country.

Antigua GFC has distinguished itself by its consistency both in the National League and during the Central American Cup, reaching the semi-finals in both tournaments. The Colonials showed themselves to be a solid team, with a balanced squad and a style of play that kept them competitive at the highest level throughout the year. During the international tournament, they surprised many people with an impressive victory against Saprissa on their home court.
