Club América Surpasses Inter Miami in Team Value Despite Messi

When talking about Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, it’s easy to imagine that their team, Inter Miami, enjoys an exorbitant market value. However, reality shows that with these stars, the Herons cannot get ahead of Club América, three-time Liga MX champion.

In a friendly match on January 18 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, two clubs with very different philosophies and strategies faced off. However, in terms of market value, the figures are clear: América’s squad is valued at 92.55 million euros, significantly surpassing Inter Miami’s 65.5 million euros, according to data from specialized source portal.

At 37 years old, Lionel Messi remains an undisputed figure in world football and Inter Miami’s most valuable player, with an estimated value of 20 million euros. His name alone represents almost a third of the team’s total value. Interestingly, behind him, names like Luis Suárez, Sergio Busquets or Jordi Alba do not appear as the most valued players. Instead, Federico Redondo (6.5 million euros) and Tomás Avilés (6 million euros) complete the top three.

On the other hand, America, under the direction of André Jardine, has a more balanced squad in terms of value. Álvaro Fidalgo leads the group with a valuation of 8 million euros, followed by Érick Sánchez (7.5 million euros) and goalkeeper Luis Ángel Malagón (7 million euros). This balance explains how the Mexican club remains competitive both locally and internationally, supported by its strong youth academy and well-established sporting project.

The contrast between the two teams is not only evident in their economic value, but also in their composition and goals. While Inter Miami relies on high-impact names to attract fans and solidify their brand in MLS, América combines experience and youth to maintain its dominance in Mexican football.

The Eagles’ decision to promote young talents during the first rounds of Clausura 2025 clearly illustrates their long-term approach. This strategy not only guarantees immediate competitiveness, but also helps train a new generation of Mexican footballers.

Meanwhile, Inter Miami approaches the friendly match in full restructuring. With the arrival of Javier Mascherano at the helm following the departure of Gerardo “Tata” Martino, the team is looking to solidify its style of play before the start of the 2025 MLS season.
