Timothy Weah hammered the final nail into AC Milan’s coffin as Juventus cruised to a decisive 2-0 victory in this Italian classic last Saturday.
The Bianconeri vented their frustrations against Milan, asserting their dominance at home to claim victory after a disappointing four-match winless run, marking a significant moment of revenge following their earlier elimination in the Supercoppa Italiana semi-finals.
Before this face-to-face, Juventus were struggling in the championship, having conceded 13 draws in their first 20 meetings. The urgency to win against a vengeful Milan was palpable, and the team responded brilliantly to this challenge.

Taking advantage of the absence of Alvaro Morata due to suspension, Juventus effectively thwarted Milan’s efforts. With Nico González in charge as central striker, the team demonstrated improvement in team play and the fluidity of their attacks, culminating in an explosive second half.
The first half was relatively open, with neither team managing to capitalize on their chances. Although Juventus and Milan had their chances, it was Vecchia Signora who pushed forward with more conviction. Attempts from Koopmeiners, Mbangula, and a header from Gatti threatened the Milan goal.
Milan also had moments of promise, notably through Rafael Leao, and a chaotic sequence of deflections masterfully controlled by Juventus goalkeeper Di Gregorio.
As the match progressed, Juventus appeared more and more superior. Goalkeeper Mike Maignan became a formidable presence, preventing attempts from Yildiz, Weah and Koopmeiners.

The breakthrough finally came when the intervention of Emerson Royal tipped the scales. A superb strike from Nico González from the center found Mbangula, who finished with composure to give Juventus the lead.
Just four minutes later, the home team doubled their lead. Well-executed pressing from Motta’s team took advantage of Milan’s disorganization. Marcus Thuram released Weah into space; the American masterfully got around Tomori to increase the score.
Despite late attempts from Jovic, Camarda, Abraham, Leao and Alex Jiménez, they failed to penetrate Juventus’ well-organized defensive unit.
With this victory, Juventus escaped their draw situation and maintained their unbeaten streak over 21 matches, thus taking sweet revenge on Milan. Juventus climbs to fourth place with 37 points, while Milan stagnates in eighth with 31 points.
