Winner this Thursday of the Wizards with Phoenix, Kevin Durant was able to form his own opinion on the opposing roster and the young talents that make it up. However, it is not the French Alex Sarr and Bilal Coulibaly on whom he mainly keeps an eye.
This season even more than the others, moving to Washington DC appears almost like a formality for the 29 other franchises NBA. Worst team in the league, Wizards have after all won only 5 of their 23 home matches so far. However, such a move could also represent a trap for their competitors, who are likely to arrive in vain.
Visiting the Capital One Arena on Thursday, the Suns managed to avoid an unpleasant surprise there. Serious despite a culpable drop in speed at the end of the meeting, they were able to count on the stage local, Kevin Durant. The latter in fact compiled 23 points in his team’s victory (130-123), and was also able to form an opinion on the young shoots he faced for the occasion.

-Bijan Todd: Kevin Durant just signed and wrote a message on the back of the jersey he wore during the game, and asked someone to take it to Bub Carrington in the Wizards locker room.
A highly symbolic gesture for the 2014 MVP, who immediately explained it to the journalist’s microphone:
Kevin Durant : We both come from the region, that’s why. I followed him in the NCAA when he played at Pitt and I have followed him since the start of the season here. I love his enthusiasm for basketball and I always want the kids that come from here, from Baltimore or Maryland or D.C., to succeed in the league. He’s playing at home and I know it’s a lot of pressure and it’s hard, but I want to see him succeed.
Originally from Baltimore, Bub Carrington landed at the Wiz as the 14th pick in the last Draft. At only 19 years old, he is already achieving remarkable performances (8.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.0 assists per game) which allow him to do well in the race for the title of Rookie of the Year. From now on, he also knows that he can count on the help and support of KD to continue his progress.
Seduced by the potential of the Wizards and the multiple talents that fill their squad, Kevin Durant says he is particularly attentive to the career of Bub Carrington. It remains to be seen whether the latter will follow in his footsteps and in turn honor the DC region.
