A man confessed on Friday to having strangled and suffocated his wife at their home in Vendée, Luçon.
On going to the scene, the police actually discovered the lifeless body of the victim.
A sixty-year-old confessed to the murder of his partner, whose body was found lifeless at his home in Luçon, in Vendée, the Roche-sur-Yon prosecutor’s office announced on Saturday. The day before, he himself had confessed to the murder while he was drunk at Cambrai hospital.
Friday, “the Cambrai police station was informed that a drunken man, aged 61, had revealed that he had killed his partner at her home in Luçon”indicated in a press release the public prosecutor of La Roche-sur-Yon, Sarah Huet. “The gendarmes went to the scene and discovered the lifeless body of a 69-year-old woman”she said.
Placed in police custody, the man “admitted to having strangled and suffocated his partner on January 16 following an argument. Police custody was extended”specified the magistrate, in a second press release published Saturday evening.
The Cambrai public prosecutor’s office confirmed to AFP that it had withdrawn during the night in favor of the Roche-sur-Yon public prosecutor’s office from the investigation opened for murder by a spouse.
