A Russian attack left four dead in kyiv, the military administration of the Ukrainian capital announced on Saturday January 18. According to Tymour Tkatchenko, head of this administration, three people were also injured. On Telegram, he denounced a “enemy attack”. The mayor of the capital Vitali Klitschko had earlier reported a “ballistic missile threat” on kyiv. A fire broke out in a non-residential building in the Shevchenkivsky district, the councilor said.

Thursday morning, while British Prime Minister Keir Starmer was visiting to sign a 100-year security partnership with Ukraine, loud explosions had already sounded in kyiv, according to AFP journalists.

Furthermore, Russian forces have “attacked the center” from Zaporizhia, in the south of the country, leaving two injured, local governor Ivan Fedorov reported on Saturday morning. An administrative building at an industrial facility was partially damaged. On January 8, a Russian aerial bombardment left 13 dead there, according to the authorities of this large southern city targeted in recent weeks by increasing attacks from Moscow.
