It was 1:50 a.m. on the night of Friday to Saturday January 18, 2025, when the Alert Processing and Regulation Center, Cetra d’Indre-et-Loire, was notified.
A refrigerated heavy goods vehicle carrying foodstuffs caught fire while traveling on the A10 near Veigné south of Tours near the Indre viaduct.
Thirty-three firefighters were mobilized to put an end to the fire. Both drivers were unhurt.
Traffic was obviously severely disrupted. It was completely cut off on the three traffic lanes in the direction of Paris towards Bordeaux for part of the night.
A traffic jam had also formed behind the accident: up to 4 km were recorded.
Diversions put in place
During the intervention, the Cofiroute manager set up diversion routes.
-Users coming from the A10 Paris wanting to head towards Bordeaux have been diverted from interchange no. 24.1 Joué-lès-Tours, take the RD910 to interchange no. 24.1 Monts Sorigny and find their destination origin via the A10 towards Bordeaux.
Users coming from the A10 Paris wanting to take the A85 towards Angers have been diverted from interchange no. 24.1 Joué-lès-Tours on the A10, take the RD910 and the secondary road network until the Loches interchange no. 9 on the A85 and return to their original destination via the A85 towards Angers.
Users coming from the A10 Paris wanting to take the A85 towards Vierzon have been diverted from interchange no. 24.1 Joué-lès-Tours on the A10, take the RD910 and the secondary road network until the interchange no. 10 on the A85 and return to their original destination via the A85 towards Vierzon
