Novak Djokovic (7th in the world), ten-time winner of the Australian Open, validated his qualification for the round of 16 by dominating Tomas Machac (25th) in three sets in the 3rd round. The Serbian, seeking his 25th Grand Slam title, won the match 6-1, 6-4, 6-4, thus achieving his first success in three sets since the start of the tournament.
The Serbian legend will meet the Czech Jiri Lehecka (29th in the world) in the round of 16, with a potential quarter-final against Carlos Alcaraz.
