The first à la carte gala of the year 2025 experienced a major upheaval just over 24 hours before its presentation.
Islam Makhachev’s (26-1) lightweight title challenger, Arman Tsarukyan, will not be able to face him for the belt due to a back injury.
The organization therefore announced that for the UFC 311 gala presented in Inglewood, California, on Saturday evening, Makhachev will face Renato Moicano in the final. The latter was scheduled to fight Beneil Dariush on the card.
-Makhachev will be making his fourth defense of his 155-pound title. He told ESPN that the last-minute change didn’t bother him and that he was ready to climb into the octagon against anyone.
Moicano has won his last four fights and is ranked 10th in the category. He disposed of Benoit Saint-Denis last September.
