Ponant Explorations Group, the Ponant holding company, takes capital control of Aqua Expeditions, a company which operates five small vessels in places known for their biodiversity. Galapagos, Raja Ampat, Komodo, Molucca archipelago, Mekong Delta and Amazon are part of its playground. At the same time, Aqua Expeditions is “accelerating its deployment in East Africa”, with itineraries in Tanzania and the Seychelles.
Ponant targets one billion euros in turnover
Francesco Galli Zugaro, CEO and founder of Aqua Expeditions, “remains a shareholder, and with his management team, continues to lead the company. The company retains its commercial and operational autonomy under its own brand,” said a press release.
This transaction is part of Ponant’s growth strategy, which is targeting a billion euros in turnover. New boats, catamaran cruises, external growth or operations on land: the company founded in 1988 is not holding back any avenue of development for the years to come.
