After recording a record number of visitors in 2024, the EMT museum ( one of the least known in Madrid) opens its doors with buses, cards and uniforms that today are part of the history of the capital. It will be open in two periods: from March 1 to July 31 and from September 6 to November 16, in the morning and, this is new, in the afternoon.
The EMT Museum houses a collection of 42 old buses – including the iconic Guy Arab double-decker models from 1947 and Leyland Titan from 1957 -, a coach and four auxiliary vehicles which are already considered to be part of the historical heritage of the Empresa Municipal de Transportes de Madrid. In addition, the space is filled with bus shelters, tram seats, models and maps that place us in different eras of the city.
Ticket prices are the same as last year: 5 euros for general entry and 3 euros for reduced entry (for large families, children up to seven years old, students, elderly people over 65 years old, disabled people and emergency medical service workers). For children under four years old, entry is free.
Morning visits can be done in three slots: at 10:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. An afternoon service at 5:00 p.m. will be available until June 1. The first passes can already be reserved on the EMT website (they are flying!).
