Fires are raging in California. Do you want to help victims but don’t know how? Discover Instacart’s quick and easy solution for donating food and essentials from home in just a few clicks…
As wildfires continue to wreak havoc in the Los Angeles area, many are looking for a way to take concrete action. But when you live hundreds or even thousands of kilometers from the disaster zone, it can seem complicated. Fortunately, the Instacart application has just launched a solidarity initiative to allow everyone to make donations to the victims in a few clicks from their sofa.
A “community cart” to make targeted donations to associations
Starting this week, Instacart users can access a dedicated space called the “LA Fire Relief community cart hub” directly from the app or website. Thanks to this “community basket”, it is now easy to buy food and basic necessities to send them to local associations which help disaster victims.
Among the beneficiary organizations, we find in particular:
- West Valley Family YMCA
- North Valley Caring Services Food Pantry
- Los Angeles Food Bank (LA Distribution Center et Industry Distribution Center)
- Plusieurs antennes locales des YMCA : Collins & Katz Family, Pasadena Sierra Madre, Santa Anita, Hollywood, Westchester, Weingart East Los Angeles, Wilmington
As a priority, these associations look for non-perishable staple foods such as peanut butter, jam, soups, canned legumes, cereal bars, breakfast cereals, bottled water or even little baby food jars.
To make a donation, nothing could be simpler: simply select the desired products on the association’s dedicated page, add them to your basket and send them to the pre-filled address. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help a family in need during this difficult time.
A surge of national generosity in 48 hours
Launched just two days ago, this Instacart solidarity initiative has already raised more than 25,000 products from Americans across the country. On social networks, many users welcome the approach:
-It’s great! You should maintain this feature to support charities across the country throughout the year.

Other ways to help victims
If you would like to support the cause in another way, you can also make a financial donation directly on the websites of the food banks mentioned, such as the Los Angeles Food Bank. The situation remains worrying and uncertain as to the duration necessary to control the fires. Any help is therefore welcome to get through this ordeal.
So don’t hesitate to use Instacart or other means at your disposal to express your solidarity with the victims of the California fires. A few clicks from your couch can make a real difference to those who have lost everything. In these difficult times, every gesture counts.
