One dead and one seriously injured after a collision between a school bus and a vehicle on the A-955

A call was made around 6:30 a.m. Thursday regarding a collision between a vehicle and a school bus on the A-955 near 12e rang in Saint-Valère.

According to police information, the vehicle deviated from its lane for an unknown reason, before colliding with the school bus which was coming the wrong way.

During the emergency response, the bus driver was transported to a hospital; she was being treated for serious injuries at the time of writing. The police do not have any further information on his state of health at this time.

As for the driver of the vehicle, he was pronounced dead on site.

According to the SQ, the school bus was not carrying any people during the accident.

SQ investigators and reconstructionists were dispatched to the site to try to understand the causes and circumstances of the accident.

Part of the A-955 has been closed to traffic in both directions for an indefinite period.
