Suspicious vehicle fire in East Broughton

An investigation was opened by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) following a vehicle fire that occurred overnight from Wednesday to Thursday in East Broughton.

Emergency services were called around 2:45 a.m. to attend near the intersection of Rue Pelletier and Avenue de l’Aréna.

The vehicle is a total loss. No one was inside.

“The fire is considered suspicious, so the scene is currently protected. Investigators and a fire scene technician will travel to the scene in the morning to clarify the causes and circumstances,” indicated SQ spokesperson Nancy Fournier.
