In a thrilling encounter at the San Siro, Inter Milan’s impressive six-game winning streak came to an abrupt end as they were held to a 2-2 draw against Bologna in Serie A on Wednesday night.
The match began with a surprising twist as Bologna’s Santiago Castro found the net just 15 minutes after kick-off, deflecting a shot from close range and causing waves of shock among the home crowd. However, the Nerazzurri responded quickly, equalizing in the 19th minute through Denzel Dumfries, who capitalized on a rebound after a powerful shot from Federico Dimarco was deflected by Bologna goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski.
As the first half drew to a close, Lautaro Martinez showed his finishing skills with a magnificent strike, guiding the ball into the top corner thanks to a smart pass from Dimarco, leaving Inter leading 2-1 at the break .

Returning for the second half, Inter appeared to have lost their rhythm, and Bologna took full advantage. Emil Holm put the sides level in the 64th minute, his low shot crucially deflecting off Nicolo Barella, ricocheting off the post and leaving the Inter defense trailing.
Despite a spirited effort, Inter failed to find the net again, with Bologna holding firm in defence. The draw leaves Simone Inzaghi’s men in second place with 44 points, three points behind championship leaders Napoli. Inter still have a game in hand following the postponement of their match against Fiorentina, due to an incident where midfielder Edoardo Bove collapsed.

On the other hand, Bologna sits comfortably in eighth place with 30 points and also has a game in hand.
Looking ahead to their upcoming fixtures, Inter will look to bounce back when they host Empoli, currently 14th in the table, on Sunday, before focusing on their next Champions League clash against Sparta Prague next Wednesday.
Bologna, meanwhile, will prepare to face struggling Monza on Saturday, before an important European duel against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.
The last game where Inter dropped points before this one was against Napoli on November 10, ending in a 1-1 draw.
