: Inter misses the opportunity to get closer to Naples

Yann Sommer and his teammates could not do better than a draw on Wednesday evening against Bologna in a postponed Serie A match.

The Inter Milan team, with Yann Sommer, missed the opportunity to reduce the gap with the championship leader, Napoli, conceding a draw at home (2-2) against Bologna in a rescheduled match of the 19th day of the Italian championship.

The reigning Italian champions, who had won five consecutive league games, maintain their second place but are now three points behind Napoli, with a game in hand.

The Nerazzurri’s evening started badly and ended even worse. They were surprised by Bologna, who opened the scoring with a 20-yard shot deflected into the net by Santiago Castro (15th minute).

It took just four minutes for the Nerazzurri to react and equalize, thanks to Denzel Dumfries, well placed to push the ball home after a shot from Federico Dimarco that the Bologna goalkeeper had saved.

The Italian international was again crucial for Inter’s second goal: launched on the left flank, he delivered a perfect cross for Lautaro Martinez, who, from close range, left Lukasz Skorupski no chance ( 45th+1).

However, after the break, Simone Inzaghi’s men lost their bearings and left control to Bologna, who intensified the pressure and finally equalized through Emil Holm (64th).

Despite a late resurgence in the last quarter of an hour of the match, the Milan team, clumsy like Mehdi Taremi who found himself alone in front of the goal (84th), was unable to regain the advantage.
