End of the first season of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew

Fruit of the collaboration between Jon Watts and Christopher Ford, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew just concluded its first season. This space adventure featuring Jod Na Nawood (Jude Law) and a band of lost children captivated its audience throughout its eight episodes. The question now arises: is a second season to be expected?

Positive reviews despite mixed audiences

Despite very positive critical feedback, with an approval rating of 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, the series’ launch on December 2 did not reach the Nielsen top 10. A rare occurrence for a live-action series Star Wars. According to Alan Bergman, co-president of Disney Entertainment, the performance of Skeleton Crew “did not live up to our expectations given the cost of production”, but the series saw “some growth” and “the reviews were excellent”.

New projects Star Wars in preparation

Bergman also announced that Disney was looking to make certain streaming titles “as cost-effective as possible” while ensuring a high level of quality. “That’s the most important thing, and we won’t do anything that we don’t consider to be quality,” he said.

The final of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew will be released on January 14 on Disney+.
