Some 170 jobs are threatened at Novartis in Puurs (Antwerp), the Swiss pharmaceutical group announced after an extraordinary works council on Wednesday. A Renault procedure has been opened.
Around 1,160 people work for Novartis at the Puurs site. In Belgium, the Basel-based company employs a total of 1,750 workers.
