Released on December 17 after almost 150 days of detention in Greenland, Paul Watson chose to participate, next Thursday, February 6, in tech&fest
at Alpexpo (Grenoble). He will perform on the main stage, at the end of the festival.
Founder of Sea Shepherd
Born in Toronto, Canada, in 1950, Paul Franklin Watson helped found Greenpeace in the early 1970s, a movement he left in 1977 to found Sea Shepherd. With this NGO, his mission is to defend marine life, “from the smallest creatures to the giants of the seas”. In his interviews, he has repeated for over 45 years that “if the ocean dies, we all die. Today we may be considered extremists by some, but for future generations we will be good ancestors.” The organization now explains that it works “in collaboration with several national navies and law enforcement agencies such as Interpol, to help bring poachers to justice and put an end to illegal, unreported fishing. and not regulated in the territorial waters of the countries concerned.”
The sense of tech at the heart of the second edition of tech&fest
For its second edition, tech&fest has chosen the meaning of tech as its theme. “We want to highlight a technology at the service of tomorrow, which projects us into a more virtuous future, for a desirable and desirable world for current and future generations, explain the organizers, but also to question the impact of new technologies, innovations on our planet, to allow everyone to question the major issues linked to new technologies and to understand how, if tech will not save the world, it will not be saved without it. »
Paul Watson will therefore be questioned on his vision of the benefit of new technologies for preserving the oceans, on the latest technological innovations used by Sea Shepherd to protect living things but also on the impact of technologies on biodiversity. tech&fest is organized by
