New BYD Atto 2 (2025): the small electric SUV takes a crowd bath at the Brussels Motor Show

So it’s official, the Atto 2 is coming to us. This was confirmed at the Brussels motor show where the SUV made its first European public appearance.

We were just talking about this a few days ago. We were convinced that the smallest BYD model was going to make its debut on the French market, there is now no longer any doubt. Discovery in images.

Like the Chinese Atto 2

Compared to the Chinese model presented last year, nothing changes on this European Atto 2 which should be produced in Hungary and therefore potentially eligible for the bonus. He has exactly the same dimensions (4.31 m long, 1.83 m wide and 1.68 m high). Which makes it the second smallest model in the BYD range after the Dolphin which is struggling to find success and a competitor to the Citroën ë-C3 Aircross, the Peugeot e-2008 or the Toyota Urban Cruiser.

Not very original but consistent with what we expect from an SUV

Can it do better than the Dolphin? With its SUV attributes, it has its chances, even if its lines are very soberin line with the greatest Atto 3. As the only traces of originality, we have rear lights whose light signature evokes, according to the manufacturer, the Möbius ring or protections on the sides of the vehicle not entirely made of plastic.

The interior presentation mirrors the exterior lines, no frills. No eccentricity like on an Atto 3. The only element that stands out from the rest, the transmission control imitating a crystal. We will come back in more detail on the characteristics of this Atto 2 in a future article.
