several training courses interested in John Klingberg

We had forgotten that one! John Klingberg sees his name resurface in NHL rumors as he prepares for his return to the game very soon. According to recent information, several training groups would be interested in its services.

John Klingberg is recovering from a good hip operation undergone in 2023. We remember that at the time, he signed a contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs. After just 14 games, the fullback had to go under the knife. He only signed a one-season contract in Toronto. In doing so, he has remained a free agent ever since. After almost two seasons of inaction, the 32-year-old defender worked hard to return to the game and it would all come to fruition. According to Darren Dreger, John Klingberg will make a decision on where he will play in the next two weeks. Ottawa, Toronto and Edmonton are among the interested teams. However, according to the TSN analyst, 5 to 7 teams would have shown interest in him.

Don’t expect a big signing. The contract that Klingberg will sign will be very low. We are talking here about a player who has not played for a long time and who was already experiencing a drop in production in the seasons before he fell in action. Certainly, his hip must have been causing him pain long before his arrival in Toronto. That said, I’m surprised to see aspiring teams looking at the possibility of adding him. Can a player who hasn’t played for two years have a direct impact on a competitive team?

It could very well be that in the end, a mid-ranking formation appears and that Klingberg prefers to join it. For what ? To prepare for his next contract and ensure a job next year by getting good minutes and not having too much pressure. In a competitive team whose positions are already filled, Klingberg will not be able to sell his salad as much to convince a team to re-sign him this summer.
