The enthusiasm for Tennis is growing, and ticket offices are becoming more and more popular at the time of the major events of the season. L’Australian Open witnessed it this year. And this is confirmed in the figures revealed this Monday: a record crowd was observed in the alleys of Melbourne Park, after a relatively exceptional day where the posters were tempting and the weather perfect. 95,290 spectators were recorded during this second day of the 2025 edition. The previous record was 94,854, in 2023. Last year, the three weeks, with qualifications, attracted 1,100,000 spectators.

A dream program and a present audience
It was past midnight when Tommy Paul converted his match point against the local Christopher O’Connell at the end of a crazy scenario. And there were still many people singing to encourage their foal. One of the only matches of the day which did not favor an Australian, since nine of them won a little earlier. This may have been in the interest of the fans this Monday. The presences of Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz et Jannik Sinner may have helped too, without forgetting the losing return of Nick Kyrgios in Melbourne. The heat was perhaps a little stifling, but it didn’t rain. There were numerous suspenseful matches (six matches ended in five sets, 12 in three sets for the ladies, including four in the super tie-break). In short, there were all the ingredients to make the trip.
