The format of the LEC Playoffs
After these nine team matches, they will be ranked, and the 8 best of them will advance to the Playoffs. During these, a new thing was planned: the fearless draft. Quite simply, each champion who has been selected during one of the games cannot be selected thereafter. We should therefore expect to see players dig deeper into their pool of champions, and especially attend less redundant matchups. The matches will take place in BO3 format until the semi-finals, then in BO5. The big winner will automatically qualify for a new international event.
After the end of the Winter Split, the top team from each major region (LCK, LPL, LEC, LTA, LCP) will be invited to Seoul. The tournament, also in the fearless draft format, will see the 5 teams compete. After these first matches, the last team will be eliminated.
The four other structures will then face each other via BO5 with direct eliminations. The 4th team will play against the 1st, and the 2nd against the 3rd. The titled team will secure a second qualifying spot for the MSI (Mid Season International), directly in the group stage.
