On X, the Bas-Rhin fire and rescue service confirmed that an intervention was underway following the accident and that “numerous resources are mobilized” on site.

While images of the accident are flooding onto social networks, the deputy for the 3rd constituency of Bas-Rhin said he was thinking of “the injured” from “this unprecedented accident for 30 years”. In fact, Strasbourg was the first French city to put the tramway back into service in 1994.
