Several positions to be filled for the Vaudreuil-Dorion day camp

Vaudreuil-Dorion is a growing city with numerous residential projects, quality jobs and several commercial zones. The population has doubled in the last fifteen years to now reach just over 40,000 citizens. The Recreation and Culture Department is looking for candidates who can fill various positions within its summer day camp.

Site managers

Under the responsibility of the section head – camps and activities and in collaboration with the camp coordinator, the person holding the position participates in various tasks related to planning, organizing, carrying out and monitoring site activities , and this, according to the guidelines of the service. She also acts as manager of the site team and ensures communications with customers.

Requirements

  • Secondary school diploma (DES);
  • Current college (DEC) or university studies in a discipline related to the human sciences or in any other appropriate disciplines;
  • Have a minimum of two (2) years experience in working with youth clients.

As an indication, the salary range is $24.07 to $28.31 per hour.

Responsible for accompanying persons

Under the responsibility of the section head – day camps and activities and in collaboration with the coordinator of specialized camps, the person holding the position participates in various tasks related to the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of activities of the Summer Leisure Support Program for children with special needs. She also acts as manager of the team of escorts and ensures communications with customers.

Requirements

  • Secondary school diploma (DES);
  • Current college or university studies in a discipline related to the position;
  • Have a minimum of two (2) years experience in working with youth clients;
  • Have experience working with children with special needs.

As an indication, the salary range is $24.07 to $28.31 per hour.

Team Leader – Animation

Under the responsibility of the section head — day camps and activities and in collaboration with the camp coordinator, the person holding the position supervises the team of leaders, jointly with the site manager. She participates in the preparation of work tools and the planning of adaptations to be implemented.

Requirements

  • Secondary school diploma (DES);
  • College or university studies in a discipline related to the position;
  • Have one year of experience in day camp activities;
  • Have relevant experience working with youth clients.

As a guide, the salary range is $20 to $20.50 per hour.

Team Leader – Support

Under the responsibility of the section head — Day camps and activities and in collaboration with the coordinator of specialized camps, the person holding the position ensures the supervision of the team of chaperones, jointly with the person in charge of accompanists. She participates in the preparation of work tools and the planning of adaptations to be implemented.

Requirements

  • Secondary school diploma (DES);
  • College or university studies in a discipline related to the position;
  • Have one year of experience working with youth clients;
  • Have experience working with children with special needs.

As a guide, the salary range is $20 to $20.50 per hour.

Facilitator

Under the responsibility of the section head – Day camps and entertainment, the person responsible for the position sees to the entertainment, supervision and safety of the children under his responsibility. She develops a program of varied activities linked to the orientations of the day camp. She may also be called upon to intervene in problematic situations and communicate with parents.

Requirements

  • Have completed secondary 4 when hired;
  • Have completed the theoretical portion of the diploma of aptitude for facilitator functions (DAFA);
  • Relevant experience with youth clients.

As a guide, the salary range is $18 to $18.50 per hour.

Accompanist

Under the responsibility of the section head – Day camps and activities, the person holding the position sees to the integration of children with special needs. She ensures the well-being and safety of the children under her responsibility. She may also be called upon to intervene in problematic situations and communicate with parents.

Requirements

  • Have completed secondary 4 when hired;
  • Study in a field related to the job (asset);
  • Relevant experience working with a youth clientele.

As a guide, the salary range is $18 to $18.50 per hour.
