An intoxicated man threatened two bar employees with a knife before being arrested by the police, Tuesday January 7, 2025 in in Tarn-et-Garonne. He will appear in September before the criminal court.

A man visibly in a state of advanced drunkenness caused an altercation in a bar on Place Nationale in Montauban (Tarn-et-Garonne).

The events took place on Tuesday January 7, 2025, around 11:50 p.m. After being asked to leave the premises by two employees due to his aggressive behavior, the individual made threats, promising to return armed.

A few minutes later, the man burst into the establishment, a kitchen knife in his hand. According to the employees, he was particularly threatening, forcing them to protect themselves with chairs.

Alerted by witnesses, a police patrol quickly intervened on the scene and arrested the man.

Aged 46, he was taken to the police station and placed in a sobering up cell for the rest of the night. During his hearing in police custody, he admitted the facts.

Contacted, the duty magistrate of Montauban prosecutor’s office notified the individual that he would be judged for these threats and violence during a trial before the Montauban criminal court. The hearing has been set for next September.
