Donald Trump has already found the culprit for the fire damage in Los Angeles
UNITED STATES – Pure Donald Trump style. The American president-elect, who will take office in ten days, reacted this Wednesday, January 8 to the devastating fires ravaging Los Angeles by posting a message on his Truth Social network. He did not show compassion towards the victims, but pointed the finger at the one he believes to be responsible: the Democratic governor of California.
The never-say-die billionaire began his post by renaming Gavin Newsom, writing “Gavin Newscum.” “Scum” in English can be translated into French by the insult “ordure”. According to Donald Trump, it’s because the governor “refused to sign the water restoration declaration which had been submitted to him” that the damage is so significant.

This text “would have allowed millions of gallons of water, from excess rain and northern snowmelt, to flow daily into many areas of California, including areas currently on fire,” says the entrepreneur. In fact, the flames spread quickly due to drought, strong winds, and the firefighters’ difficulties in obtaining water supplies. Residents of the Los Angeles region are also being asked to reduce their water consumption.
“He wanted to protect an uninteresting fish called hypomesus transpacificus (…), but he didn’t care about the people of California. The ultimate price has now been paid. I will demand that this incompetent governor allow beautiful, clean, fresh water to flow to CALIFORNIA! »a poursuivi Donald Trump.
-Fish versus farmers
Problem, responded Gavin Newsom’s services on X: “There is no such document as the Water Restoration Declaration – it is pure fiction. » And the Democrat added: “The governor is focused on protecting people, without playing politics, and making sure firefighters have all the resources they need. »
The issue of protecting the hypomesus transpacificus has been at the heart of environmental concerns in California for years. This small fish, abundant several decades ago and characteristic of the Sacramento Delta, almost disappeared during the 2010s due to massive water pumping to combat drought.
Salmon also suffer from this policy, and by extension all the biodiversity of the delta. However, this is not among the concerns of the climate skeptic billionaire, who wants to continue supplying water to farmers despite the consequences for the environment. The battle for blue gold is not over.
