I will renew my contract

Lamine Yamal expresses his eternal love for Barça in an exclusive interview with CNN Sport: “Barça is the club of my life. I hope to renew and stay at the club as long as possible.”

A few days ago, accepting the Agent of the Year award, Jorge Mendes clearly affirmed the continuity of Lamine Yamal in Barcelona. His words reassured Barca supporters, as he practically confirmed Yamal’s renewal, thus avoiding any speculation around prolonged negotiations that could worry fans. However, it was the player himself who provided the ultimate proof that the contract extension is imminent during his interview with CNN Sports Dubai.

“I don’t know when the contract will be signed, but it will be soon. Barça is the club of my life; I hope to renew and stay as long as possible. I want to play in La Liga and Barça. Yes, I will renew my contract,” said the player, who is expected to make his return this evening against Athletic in the first semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup.

Lamine is convinced it is time for Barcelona to start winning titles again and is aiming to start with the Super Cup. The achievement would provide some needed reassurance to Hansi Flick’s project after a few weeks where results have not been in their favor, tarnishing what had been a devastating start to the season. Yamal believes that with the German coach at the helm, success can return. “It is true that Flick is a different coach with a different style of play. We tried to adapt to what he told us, and I think we are doing well. In 2025 we will give everything to win titles , starting with the Super Cup, we will do everything to make this the best year of our lives,” he declared.
