The year 2025 begins with a bang with the highly anticipated announcement of the new generation of NVIDIA graphics cards. CEO Jensen Huang took advantage of CES in Las Vegas to lift the veil on the RTX 50, a range that promises exceptional performance thanks to Blackwell architecture and advanced AI integration.
A new generation twice as powerful
The star of this announcement is undoubtedly the RTX 5090, a power monster which features no less than 92 billion transistors and 32 GB of GDDR7 memory. NVIDIA announces performance doubled compared to the RTX 4090, in particular thanks to DLSS 4 and its new Multi Frame Generation technology. The latter allows you to generate up to three additional images for each traditionally rendered image. The range consists of four models:
- RTX 5090: $1999 (available January 30)
- RTX 5080: $999 (available January 30)
- RTX 5070 Ti: $749 (available in February)
- RTX 5070: $549 (available in February)
Particularly interesting point: the RTX 5090 Founders Edition adopts a compact two-slot design, which makes it compatible with SFF (Small Form Factor) cases – a real technical feat when you know the power delivered.
AI at the heart of the graphics revolution
NVIDIA is banking more than ever on artificial intelligence with this new generation. DLSS 4 now includes models based on transformers, the same architecture that powers ChatGPT or Gemini. This development significantly improves image quality with better temporal stability and more moving details.
The Blackwell architecture also introduces “RTX Neural Shaders”, capable of compressing textures up to 7 times while preserving their quality. “RTX Neural Faces” technology uses generative AI to improve face rendering in real time, while NVIDIA Reflex 2 promises to reduce latency by up to 75%.
A revolution that also affects laptops
Laptop PCs are not left out since NVIDIA announces the arrival of the RTX 50 Series in machines from major brands like Acer, ASUS, Dell and Razer from March 2025. The new mobile GPUs promise autonomy improved by 40% thanks to Max-Q innovations and doubled performance compared to the previous generation.
For Apple users, although these cards cannot be directly used on Mac, this technological development could influence the development of future Apple Silicon chips dedicated to gaming and creative applications.
-The release of these new graphics cards undeniably marks a turning point in the history of PC video games and computer graphics. With doubled performance and extensive AI integration, NVIDIA confirms its leadership position and paves the way for a new era of real-time graphics rendering.
