Winter Storm Blair is hitting much of the United States, bringing heavy snow, ice and freezing temperatures to the Mid-Atlantic region on Monday.
What you need to know About 34 million people are under winter storm warning and at least four deaths have been reported as the storm moves across the country, according to the Weather Channel. Many school districts were closed and at least 18 inches of snow fell in some places.

Companies concerned: More than 350,000 people are without power because of the storm. Dominion Energy, Inc. (NYSE:D), serves customers in Virginia, where more than 100,000 power outages have been reported.
The actions of the portable generator manufacturer Generac Holdings Inc. (NYSE:GNRC) have gained nearly 3% over the past five days as investors anticipate storm-related power outages and increased demand for generators.
FlightAware is reporting nearly 3,000 flight delays and more than 1,700 cancellations as the storm moves across the country this Monday. Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE:LUV) reports the highest number of cancellations with 371, followed by American Airlines Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:AAL) with 185 flights canceled.
-T-Mobile US, Inc. (NASDAQ:TMUS) said it took proactive steps last week, including consolidating network equipment, inspecting and powering permanent and portable generators and hardening infrastructure, to ensure that customers and first responders can stay connected throughout the storm.
Next steps Winter precipitation is expected to subside by Tuesday, but the Weather Channel is predicting another winter storm later this week.
“The next winter storm will begin to manifest in the Southern Plains Wednesday evening and especially Thursday. It could spread snow from parts of North Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas to other parts of the South, the Ohio Valley and possibly parts of the East by Friday or Saturday,” said weather.com’s digital meteorologist, Chris Dolce.
