Dan Campbell’s full postgame press conference: Lions vs. Vikings

Opening statement: “Woo, what a victory! Guys, I can’t say enough about our defense. They really controlled the game for us—especially in the first half and early in the third quarter. AG [Coordinateur Défensif Aaron Glenn] and the defense executed exactly as we expected. It was a total team effort. Back-to-back NFC North division champions, No. 1 seed, and 15 wins—that’s incredible. It’s been a journey, and I’m so proud of this group. You can’t buy that kind of chemistry and toughness. This core has been through a lot together, and today they showed why they are special.”

On Alex Anzalone’s impact upon his return:

“It was huge. He is our quarterback on defense. His presence gives us confidence and energy. I thought it would take him some time to readjust, but he came back to himself right away. He will definitely get a match ball for what he brought there.”

On the defensive game plan against Sam Darnold and the Vikings:

“We couldn’t have Darnold sitting there with time to throw. He plays at such a high level, especially on those play-action passes. Our plan was to put him under pressure, disrupt their rhythm, and take Justin Jefferson out of the equation. The guys performed wonderfully. We put the pressure on, and our rearguard held on. AG set the vision, and the players delivered.”

On Jahmyr Gibbs’ performance:

“Jahmyr was exceptional. He got better and better as the match went on. That run along the sideline after the stop in the red zone? You could feel the energy changing. He was our X-factor today, both running and catching the ball. That’s the type of player he is, and he showed in a big way.”

On the team’s defensive identity:

“Our defense thrives on playing smart, aggressive football. It’s about discipline, energy and confidence. Today they played at an exceptional level, executing everything we asked of them. They are relentless, and that is the identity we are building. This group feeds off each other and embraces the challenge.”

On the importance of the team’s regular season success:

“I don’t know if I can really put it into words. What this group has accomplished is special. Winning the division, securing first place – that’s what we’ve been working towards for years. But this is only the beginning. The journey continues, and our guys know what’s at stake.”

On CB Amik Robertson’s contributions:

“Amik has been a warrior for us. He does not shy away from any challenge. He is competitive, talented, and gives everything he has. Whether in individual coverage or with assistance, you know what to expect with him. He’s a big reason our defense has been able to play the aggressive style we want.”

On CB Terrion Arnold’s injury update:

“We will know more tomorrow. The x-rays were negative, which is good news, but he was quite tender. That was enough to keep him away, so we’re going to take it step by step and see where he’s at.”

Final Thoughts:

“Our team deserved this moment. We knew this match was a test, and the guys responded. This core has been building toward something special, and I’m just honored to be a part of it. But now, it’s time for the playoffs. We have big goals, and it’s time to focus and pursue them.”

Come on Lions. A Pride. ????
