What do you think of first when buying a car? Value for money should undoubtedly be one of your first concerns, as for many motorists. And in this game, it is sometimes complicated to know which vehicle offers you the best compromise. So don't panic, ADAC has taken care of it for you.
The Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club has established a ranking of the 76 models it tested this year in order to find out which one had the best price for the most comprehensive service. To establish the order of finish, the organization averaged two scores: one for the car's technology and one for the selling price.
No vehicle manages to rank as “very good” from the ADAC, which is granted to those obtaining a score between 0.6 and 1.5. As a reminder, in Germany the rating system is reversed compared to ours: the lower the score, the more positive it is. On the other hand, many vehicles reach the “Good” category, but no one does better than a certain French woman.

The Renault Clio TCe 90 dominates the debates with a score of 2.1, which allows it to beat four competitors, all ranked tied with 2.2: the Kia Picanto 1.0, the Renault Clio E-Tech hybrid 145, the Skoda Kamiq 1.0 TSI and the Volkswagen Golf 1.5 TSI. Unlike its ranking of the best vehicles of the year, largely dominated by electric vehicles, the ADAC does not this time classify EVs among the best value for money.
A logical decision as the price of plug-in cars is still too dissuasive for many buyers. However, there is no disaster for the 100% electric, the best ranked of which obtain an average score of 2.4. These are the MG 4 Electric, the Opel Astra Electric and the Peugeot e-308.
-At the other end of the ranking, it is a hybrid which is the most harshly evaluated. Despite its good score of 2.2 on technology, the Porsche Cayenne E-hybrid is severely impacted by its 5.5 on price, the worst score applicable. The ADAC applied the same sanction to the Mercedes GLE Coupé 300 d and GLS 450 as well as the Porsche Taycan, deemed too expensive despite their qualities.
