In a letter published on the website of the French Golf Federation, its president, Pascal Grizot, explains why ffgolf is joining the “Red Card to Bercy” launched by the Olympic world. The government wants to reduce the budget allocated to sport by 40%.
« Golf and all sports are essential drivers of our society. Together, let's refuse to let them be sacrificed! », concluded Pascal Grizot in this letter where he details the benefits of sport and also the risks that this drastic reduction in the budget will cause.
« Sport is an essential tool for public health, a pillar of social inclusion and a key economic and environmental player », writes the president of Ffgolf. According to him, the risks of this budget reduction are “ the closure of many clubs, limited access for young people and the future of our high-level athletes. »
-Many sports federations have already addressed this “ Red card at Bercy“. Rugby, judo, fencing, sailing, rowing, ice sports have all, among others, encouraged people to sign the dedicated petition “ Together, let's keep the Paris 2024 Flame alive« .
Pascal Grizot is sending out a real alarm signal. “ It is sport as a whole that is in danger, and with it, thousands of lives, projects and initiatives. We must react! Let's support our clubs. »
