The start of 2025 so far promises to be cool and locally disrupted. This Thursday, a disturbance, still in progress, is generously crossing France. The latter leaves behind cool weather for this Friday, which will increase the risk of snowflakes and ice this January 3 in the early morning. Which 37 departments are affected by a risk of snow and ice over the next few hours until 12 p.m. Friday? We list them for you at the end of the article.
Brighter, but cool weather this Friday
Good news for people living in Hauts-de-France, Île-de-France and the northwest. This Friday, January 3, the weather will be generally clear, allowing the sun to shine through, after long gray days. In the southwest, gray weather, without frost, with a few showers, is expected. To the south-east “a hazy sky, with wind “will help chase away the clouds” confirms Régis Crépet, meteorologist at The Weather Channel.
Temperature-wise, it will be cool, very cool even in the more northern regions, with morning frosts which could reach -2 degrees in the plains. Further south, a relatively mild thermometer, with up to 15 degrees in the afternoon in the Pyrénées-Orientales. In short, a clearer sky, but with frost in the north, grayer, foggy, even threatening in the south, with mild temperatures.
Discover in our slideshow below the 37 departments on yellow alert for snow and ice this Friday morning, as well as the three mountainous departments where the risk of avalanche will be pronounced according to Météo-France. If the risk of snow is minimal, it is indeed the ice that could cause you some difficulty in starting your car tomorrow morning.
